Family of 3 at last

Woke at 6 worrying about making bottles and go up and boiled the kettle to prepare bottles for the day. Snowbell woke with a a huge grin and shout that "Today we get Belle" - we dressed and did final preparations then headed down for breakfast churning with excitement particularly when all through the restaurant were lots of new babies. I began to feel very weepy.
The last hour was agony! Finally we were able to brave the 4 lane highway and cross at the crossing where NO car stops for you unless as Hugh eventually did you take the car on like a matador. Up in the crowded hot lift to something like 26th floor where waiting in the big reception room - lots of big shiny mahogany armchairs around the edge - were the 2 carers with 2 babies one of which was Belle. Our guide told us that we had to wait for the officials so we stood at the other side of the room - me weeping. Eventually I pleaded that we could go and sit next to her. She was in a sweet yellow and white suit with pants, t-shirt and jacket, still very much a 6 month old baby with rolls of fat but not as big as her pictures would suggest. She sucks her bottom lip in - I think nervously or to comfort herself and can look like a gummy old man! After I had presented my passport and Notice to Travel we were finally allowed to receive the babies - the other two families babies didn't arrive for another 15 - 20 mins which must have been agony for them. Belle - known as Ji Ji (like the film Gigi) was quiet but not upset at being given to us. Bit by bit as the day went on she became more and more animated and responsive, vocalising, smiling and even giggling. She adores her big sister Snowbell and no wonder as she is being devoted and so sweet and helpful and intuitive. The afternoon passed in a bit of a blur as we had to do all of the official adoption paperwork immediately after recieving the babies. It was stressful but much less than last time because Belle being younger is so much less upset. When we returned to the room she had a short nap and then played with me and with Snowbell for a good hour. Her development is spot on for her age. She is well on her way to sitting independently and she can pick up and handle toys easily. She played so happily with all the toys and we have to watch out when we sitting at the table at dinner as she inclined to grab everything with great enthusiasm!! After dinner we gave her a very quick bath which I think she thought was pretty exciting and she was asleep in no time after a bit of a bottle, and a five minute cry. She is sleeping in the middle between Snowbell and me and according the to the schedule I recieved from the orphanage should sleep right through until 6.30! Can I be so lucky as to get two babies who are good sleepers as well as sweet and cheerful girls!!??
Tomorrow is only a visit to a porcelain factory - Nanchang is famous for its porcelain and a walk in the People's Park which will be really nice for the babies.
Well that is all from one happy mother(with very tired arms )of two gorgeous girls!
